How would you describe typical UW students?
Each new student is greeted with open arms by their other students. If you chat to people, you can learn a lot about them. University of Washington students come from all walks of life, as befits a large research university. But everyone is really nice, and I’ve made a lot of new friends in my short time here.
Dash Point State Park Tacoma is only around 17 minutes distant from the school, so students may easily make a day of it. Although the park’s biggest lure is its beach, it also has miles of forested hiking and bike paths and is conveniently located between Seattle and Tacoma.
The University of Washington (UW) is the oldest and most prestigious university on the Pacific Coast and the premier public research university in the United States. Our main campus is located in a vibrant Seattle neighbourhood, convenient to the city centre, and is home to more than 32,000 undergraduates pursuing 180+ programmes. More than nine thousand students participate in experiential learning each year.
Although freshman at UW are not required to reside on campus, the large majority of them do so, making for a close-knit and welcoming student body. There is a lot of praise for the environmentally friendly design of school buildings like dorms and cafeterias. Hundreds of student groups and dozens of intramural and club sports improve the Husky experience.
